The Tshwane Heritage Prints: Cultural Symbols Reimagined
The Tshwane Print is inspired by one of Tshwane’s most iconic landmarks, the Union Buildings, a symbol of South Africa’s unity and historical legacy. Elements of the building’s architecture and aerial views have been transformed into a refined, structured print that embodies Tshwane’s strength and significance.
The Tshwane Sun Print draws from the Mapungubwe Museum, home to ancient artefacts reflecting South Africa’s rich history of trade and prosperity. This print incorporates symbols like the round cast gold beads and notched flower-like beads found in the museum’s collection, honouring Tshwane’s connection to Mapungubwe, Southern Africa’s earliest known kingdom. The earthy tones and intricate patterns echo the legacy of craftsmanship and prosperity associated with Mapungubwe.
The Tshwane Resort Collection has showcased at the 13th annual Durban Fashion Fair in November 2024 as well as the Africa Fashion International (AFI) Cape Town Fashion Week 2024 show in December 2024.
